personally i think a really good time for all that stuff is December 1st ish...because December means CHRISTMAS!
I agree with the December 1st date but I know a lot of people that start as soon as the American Thanksgiving is over (this weekend I think).
I don't start decorating till December 1st at the earliest. I think December 7th would be about right.
